Ex-NFL QB Colt Brennan Died Of Accidental OD, Fentanyl & Methamphetamine Found

Colt Brennan, a former NFL quarterback, died from an accidental drug overdose. TMZ Sports learned this after a toxicology report revealed that Brennan had ingested fentanyl along with other dangerous substances before his death.
Brennan, who was 37 years old, tragically passed away in May 2021. Brennan, a former University of Hawaii quarterback, was receiving treatment at a Southern California drug rehab facility when he suffered a medical emergency. He was taken to the hospital, where he died.

After completing an autopsy, tox screen and a thorough investigation, officials from the health department have determined that the death was accidental and caused by a deadly combination of drugs (polydrug), which also included the illegal and dangerous fentanyl.

Officials also discovered methamphetamines, amphetamines, and ethanol in the man's system.

It is not clear if Colt was prescribed any drugs or if he took them himself.

Colt was the star at Hawaii and was a 6th round draft pick in 2008. After playing for Washington and Oakland, Colt moved around the league before joining the CFL in Canada.

Brennan hails from Newport Beach, California.
