Highlights: Wales beat Kazakhstan 6-0 in World Cup qualifier
Wales started their qualifying campaign for the 2023 Women's World Cup with a win over Kazakhstan at Llanelli’s Parc y Scarlets.
Kayleigh Green's brilliant strike put Wales on the right track before Natasha Harding completed their second half.
Rachel Rowe's incredible 30 yard effort and Green's late headers from Gemma Evans, Ceri Holland secured a dominant win.
Gemma Grainger won this important game, her first competitive match in charge. France was the favourite in Group I and had beaten Greece 10-0 earlier that day.
Jayne Ludlow was appointed the successor to Jayne Grainger in March. She believes her team can qualify for their first major finals, and that this win will give her lots of encouragement.
Hayley Ladd was able to return from an injury that prevented her from participating in the June friendly against Scotland. Holland was also included for her third cap.
They faced Kazakhstan, ranked 82nd worldwide and having lost all eight of their Euro 2021 qualifying matches.
Within three minutes, Wales had two chances. Natasha Harding's header was from Holland's cross and Irina Saratovtseva gathered it comfortably before Brighton's Green went over.
Wales continued to dominate, and Saratovtseva was able to stop Gemma Evans' header at Rachel Rose's corner. Jess Fishlock couldn't take advantage of the rebound.
Saratovtseva was able to stop Holland's deflected attempt, but Wales didn't have to wait too long to score their first goal.
Bibigul Nurusheva failed in clearing and Green took the ball from the box's edge before Green's powerful shot on the turn left no chance for the keeper.
Saratovtseva was forced to tip the ball over by Harding from the touchline, but that did not stop Reading from increasing their lead to Wales by two goals before the half-hour mark.
Harding was assisted by Captain Sophie Ingle, who led the ball past an helpless Saratovtseva. With Wales in complete control,
Rowe was rewarded after she received the ball by Fishlock and unleashed a 30-yard shot that extended the lead for the home side.
Kazakhstan stood strong and resisted with a Fishlock attempt blocked and the overworked Saratovtseva delaying Rowe's follow-up effort.
Green scored her second goal of the evening, her 13th international goal. She did this with a header from Rowe.
The win was sealed by Evans and Holland's stoppage time headers to give Wales a positive start to their qualifying campaign. This was not only Grainger’s first competitive match as manager but also their first game in front fans since their March 2020 win in Wrexham.
As on Tuesday, Wales will face Estonia, which lost 4-0 against Slovenia on Friday.

Wales manager Gemma Grainger told BBC Sport Wales:
"It was a team effort from the beginning to the end and exactly what we expected. We started exactly how we wanted.

"This is the first game of a long campaign, and I'm so happy to score six goals together as a team."
