Mayim Bialik and Ken Jennings will host rest of the Jeopardy! season

We can now escape the terror of Mike Richards being the Jeopardy host! Sony is scrambling for a replacement who won't upset as many people. Previously, it was reported that Mayim Bilialik would host the remainder of the season. Sony then picked new hosts. Sony has now confirmed that Bialik will host the remaining episodes from September 20 through November 5. Bialik will continue hosting with Alex Trebeks golden boy Ken Jennings after that date. This means that there are no plans to create a new group for guest hosts.

TMZ reported the news before Sonys press release. It noted that Richards, who served as executive producer of the show, suggested that guest hosts be brought back in an internal memo to staffers. Sony seems to be ignoring Richards' recommendations after he was fired as a producer and lost his hosting gig. TMZ reports that Jennings will serve as interim host. However, sources claim that Jennings is not considered a serious contender for the permanent job due to his ableist tweet. This tweet said that there was nothing more sad than a hot person in a chair.

Although it appears that Jennings won't be Trebeks permanent replacement however, it is not clear if Sony might hand over the hosting duties to Bialik for the remainder of the show. Even if they did, it would be controversial. In an opinion piece published in The New York Times, the former Big Bang Theory star made inappropriate remarks about Harvey Weinstein victims. She said that women should dress modestly if she doesn't want to be attacked by men. The op-ed was widely criticised by celebrities such as Gabrielle Union, Patricia Arquette and others who shared their stories about how modest clothing did not stop them being assaulted.
