A Lost Boys Reboot Is in the Works With Quiet Place and It Stars

Get ready to fill your bathtubs full of garlic. The Lost Boys are back. Noah Jupe, a star of A Quiet Place and Jaeden Marttell, star on It and Knives Out were tapped to star as the modern-day remake of the 1987 vampire smash which starred Kiefer, Jason Patric and Corey Haim.

The Hollywood Reporter reported the news about the film. It is written by Randy McKinnon, and directed by Jonathan Entwistle. McKinnon works on the DC film Static Shock, while Entwistle is well-known for his streaming shows I Am Not Okay with This and The End of the F***ing World. He is also attached to a Power Rangers reboot.

The only thing that is certain about this new version of The Lost Boys is the fact that it will be set in modern times. There are no details. This alone will make a huge difference, considering that the original 1987 film is extremely 1987. One mother, Dianne Wiest, moves her teenage sons Sam and Michael to Santa Carla (California), where they are reunited with their father, Corey Haim (Jason Patric). David and his crew try to recruit Sam (Dianne Wiest) and Michael (Jason Patric). They then fight back using the help of characters played Corey Feldman, Jami Gelrtz and other.

Warner Bros. attempted to adapt the story to the small screen in previous years and shot two pilots together with Veronica Mars Rob Thomas. Unfortunately, neither of these efforts worked out and The Lost Boys TV series never got to the screen. This is a fate that the film might still suffer, but Jupe and Martell are prominent and, we suspect, there's a growing cast behind them. The classic vampire film could rise again. As long as there are no gratuitous sax solos.
