New York Giants' Daniel Jones - Kenny Golladay frustrated, but they'll work through it

LANDOVER, MD. New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones dismissed what appeared to have been a heated conversation with wide receiver Kenny Golladay in the fourth quarter of Thursday night’s 30-29 loss against the Washington Football Team. He said that Golladay was just "frustrated".
Golladay had three catches of 38 yards on eight targets and was seen shouting at Jones near the bench during the final minutes of the game.

Jones stated that Jones was frustrated by the situation. "I don’t believe it was to me or anyone else."

Golladay signed a huge free-agent contract with $40 million guaranteed in the offseason. In his two first games with the Giants, he had seven catches and 102 yards. After the loss, the Giants fell to 0-2 for their fifth consecutive season.

Joe Judge, New York's coach, said that Jones and Golladay were "hugging in locker rooms" but didn't know much else.

Jones stated that he had a conversation with Golladay in the locker room and that it was all good. He said that he didn’t take it personally.

Jones stated, "I'll repeat: He wasn’t showing me up individually." "So, that's part of the game. He's emotional and wants to win, as I mentioned. We all do. That is what I do."

Golladay's anger was partly due to his desire to have more of the ball. On Thursday, he had one target and was tightly covered on it.

Jones stated, "Yeah. I think that's part of it." "You want receivers who want the ball. It will be a continual process.

Jones stated that he believed Jones and Golladay wouldn't have any problems moving forward. Jones stressed that they have a strong relationship, and that he values Golladay’s passion and emotion.

Sterling Shepard, a wide receiver, is very close to both players and didn’t get into much of the drama.

Shepard stated, "I think you guys have all that mixed up." "Golladay was just overheated about the situation. We needed big plays and he was very heated about the situation. All of us love one another. This is what happens when emotions get involved in the game. You just say what you want to say and then you move on. We all love one another and we give each other hugs at the end.

Jones played a great game on Thursday, despite being under a lot of pressure. Jones threw for 249 yards with a touchdown and ran 95 yards for a score. A penalty also negated his long touchdown run.

Jones was unable to find Golladay for the second week. Washington was held to nine passes by Shepard, who caught ten targets for 94 yards.
