Mina Kimes, Field Yates and Mina Kimes preview Seattle's trip towards Indianapolis for Week 1. (0:41).
ESPN reports that the Indianapolis Colts have reached an agreement with RB Nyheim Hines to extend their contract for three years through 2024. His agents Ed Wasielewski (EMG Sports) and Jeremy Appledorf (EMG Sports) tell ESPN.
Hines is one of the highest-paid running backs in NFL, earning an average of $6.2million.
Hines had 170 catches in his first three seasons. This is sixth among all running backs. Hines also averages 14.9 yards per punt returned, which would be the best in NFL history.
Hines joins linebacker Darius Leonard, and offensive tackle BradenSmith as the third members of the Colts 2018 draft class that have been granted an extension. Quenton Nelson, an All-Pro guard, is also included in the class. If an extension is granted, he would likely sign a record-breaking deal among guards.
