Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, manager of Manchester United, says that there is no place for his players to hide after the return Cristiano Ronaldo.
Ronaldo, 36 years old, will make his United debut against Newcastle in the Premier League match at Old Trafford.
Raphael Varane and his arrival from France have raised expectations at a club that last won the league title back in 2013.
Solskjaer stated: "He will get on to the pitch at one point, that's certain."
The Norwegian said, "There's no hiding place for winners like those." It is impossible to give 95% training and not be focused. This is what he expects of himself and others."
It's a sign of the standard Ronaldo must live up to. In his last appearance against Newcastle at Old Trafford in January 2008, Ronaldo scored a second-half goal and scored a hat-trick in an 0-6 win.
Ronaldo's performance at that time was marked by decisive running with a ball at his feet, and the ability to beat defenders from either side.
What type of Ronaldo is Man Utd getting
He is now a more direct attack. He was a more direct attacker in his recent goals against Ireland. He used his famous leap to pass defenders and then steered headers into the net.
Solskjaer stated, "Everyone develops and evolves throughout their careers."
"He won't go past you if he sees 18, 19, 20, or 20 stepovers. We were all impressed by what he learned over his years at Real Madrid.
He is a great air gunner and his timing is impeccable. His desire to make crosses is unmatched. When he shoots outside the box, he still hits the target 99 percent of the time. He is more familiar with the game and the best positions to use, and he can still read the statistics as fast as he can.
He will be an example to all. He will be a leader in the dressing room.
Ronaldo, a former teammate on MUTV, stated that he hadn't returned to Manchester "for a holiday" in an interview.
He signed a contract for two years, with the possibility of an additional year. Ronaldo would be 39 years old, and Solskjaer believes he could continue on beyond that.
The Norwegian said, "Cristiano doesn’t need me telling him what to do."
He has had the desire and determination to succeed. He has been the only person I've seen who prepared and took the necessary steps.
"He is still in great shape and will look at the next few decades to play as much and score as many goals and as many games as possible."
"Ryan Giggs played football until he turned 40. It wouldn't surprise me if Cristiano reaches the same age.
