Kuo: Apple Watch Series 8 Will Take Your Temperature, Future AirPods to Help Manage Your Health

Ming-Chi Kuo, an Apple analyst and respected blogger, provided some brief comments on the Apple Watch Series 8 (and AirPods) in a research note.

Kuo stated that he was optimistic about the demand for Apple Watch 2022, given that the next-generation Apple Watch Series 8 will have new health management features. He predicted that this will include body temperature measurement. This feature will turn your Apple Watch into a thermometer, which can be useful in detecting fevers, which is a common symptom for many diseases.

Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, Debby Wu and The Wall Street Journal's RolfeWinkler reported previously that the Apple Watch would gain a body temperature sensor by 2022.

Apple Watch has seen a gradual increase in health features over the years. These include heart rate monitoring, irregular heart rhythm notifications and the ECG app. Blood oxygen measuring, fall detection and blood oxygen measurement are just a few of the many options. Apple CEO Tim Cook stated that the Apple Watch was still in its "early innings" when it comes to the number of sensors that can be integrated into it.

Cook said, "Think about how many sensors your car has." Cook stated, "And arguably your body is more important than your vehicle."

Kuo also predicted future AirPods would have health management functions. However, he didn't provide specific details. DigiTimes reported in May 2020 that future AirPods will use embedded AI and system-in-package technology. This would allow the AirPods "monitor heart rate, steps, and health conditions."

Kuo claims that Luxshare Precision, a Chinese supplier of health management hardware products will be the "largest beneficiary".
