Halloween Kills Is Making Like Michael Myers and Coming Home

Halloween's night that he returns home is October 31. It will be October 15 this year. Universal, Blumhouse and Miramax have just announced that Halloween Kills, the highly anticipated horror sequel, will be available in your home if you subscribe to Peacock. It will also debut in theaters on the same day.

This second film was to be released in October 2020. It was originally supposed to premiere back in October 2020, when the Halloween sequel trilogy was co-written by David Gordon Green and directed by Jamie Lee Curtis. After the covid-19 pandemic, Universal moved both the second and third movies up to a full calendar year. 2021 for Halloween Kills and 2022 for Halloween Ends. Things have been moving along towards a theatrical release ever since, much like the other major Universal Pictures releases Candyman and F9 in the past months. This is quite a sudden shift.

It is a good thing, in the end, because anyone can watch it. There are many other factors to consider. One of the most concerning elements is fear and caution around the delta variant. After its debut at Venice Film Festival, there was a lack of buzz and an initial Rotten Rotten Tomatoes score. This is the second part of a trilogy. Halloween Ends, which is the final piece in the puzzle, will be released October 2022. This film must be seen by people. The film can be streamed on a day and time that is convenient for them, as well as in theaters.

While most of the recent Universal titles were theatrical only, Universal was also first to skip theaters last year for a major release. It also moved The Boss Baby: Family Business to a simultaneous theaterical as well as Peacock debut earlier in the year. The company has all the data necessary to make this move, and Halloween Kills is no exception.

Halloween Kills begins immediately after the events of the 2018 reboot/sequel Halloween. Laurie Strode (Curtis), Laurie Greer's daughter (Judy Greer), and Andi Matichak left Michael Myers to burn in Laurie's house. The film shows Michael fleeing and killing more, so the Strode ladies unite the entire town to take him down. They won't. There will be a third part next year. You can still stay in the house if you want to see what happens. This is the opposite of what Michael did.
