What the groups look like

Group A

Portugal is currently at the top of the standings, and they are the only team in group A that has not suffered defeat.

Serbia was denied the opportunity to maintain the same number of points with Portugal, as Republic of Ireland's second point in group came from Nikola Milenkovic's late own goal.

Group B

Spain is at the top of Group B, with 13 points from six games. However, they have played two more games that Sweden and Greece who are second and third, respectively.

Sweden lost 2-1 to Greece to lose a huge chance to stay in touch with Spain, who are now three points behind them.

Group C

Italy, Euro 2020 champions, has continued its excellent form and leads Group C.

They defeated Lithuania 5-0 in their last match and are now unbeaten for 37 games. With 14 points from six games, the Italians lead the standings. Switzerland is second with eight points. Switzerland has played just two more games than Italy.

Northern Ireland also have two games against Italy, and they are third with five points. A draw with the Swiss in their final game kept them in contention.

Group D

France, the world champions, won a crucial win Tuesday after their slow start.

After going five games without a win for 90 minutes, they won a comfortable victory over Finland. Antoinne Griezmann scored twice.

France is top of Group D, with 12 points from six matches. Ukraine is seven points behind them.

Group E

Belgium is well on the way to winning Group E, with five wins and one draw in six of their six games. This gives them 16 points.

Czech Republic is second with seven points, but they have a game on the Belgians.

Wales has two games left but was held to a disappointing draw by Estonia in their last game. They now have seven points from their four previous games.

Group F

Denmark was one of the storylines of Euro 2020. They responded to the shocking scenes of Christian Eriksen's fall to reach the semi-finals where they were eliminated by England.

They are right back where they were and have, just like England, won all of their qualifying games. They scored 22 goals and conceded none. To qualify, they will need to win two more games.

Scotland's win over Austria on Tuesday boosted their chances of reaching the play-offs. They are currently second with 11 points after six games.

Group G

After six games, it is close at the top of Group G. Norway and the Netherlands are tied on 13 points each.

The Netherlands beat Turkey 6-1 in their last match. Memphis Depay scored a hat trick, putting them in first on goal difference.

Erling Braut haaland's incredible scoring form continues. A hat-trick by the Norway striker against Gibraltar in a 5-1 victory brings his total for this season's club and country season to 11 goals in eight matches.

They remain in the lead with 11 points despite Turkey's loss to the Dutch.

Group H

It comes down to the goal difference in Group H, with Russia and Croatia both at 13 points.

Croatia is top due to their 3-0 victory against Slovenia in the last game. Slovakia is fourth, four points behind the leaders.

Group I

England's 100% qualifying record was wiped out when they were held 1-1 in Poland by a late equalizer. With five wins and one draw, the Three Lions are still in pole position with six games.

This was an important point for Poland, as it kept them in the race for qualifying. They currently sit third with 11 points, just one point behind Albania, who has won four of six qualifiers.

Hungary has 10 points, and the three appear to be fighting for second.

Group J

With 15 points from six games, Germany's win against Iceland was a comfortable win.

Armenia was held 1-1 by Liechtenstein, but they remain second with 11 points after losing just one of six games.
