We know the Earths imminent destruction by an asteroid can be entertaining or vastly stupid, depending on your feelings about Michael Bays 1995 acition/sci-fi/shlock Armageddon. Could it be humorous to see the Earth being destroyed by an errant meteor? Netflix's new movie Dont Look Up will give it a shot. This trailer shows that it has a better chance than Earth.

Directed by Adam McKay, of Anchorman and The Big Short fame, Dont Look Up is the story of two low-level amateur astronomers who have to go on a media tour to warn people about a coming comet that could destroy Earth.
Even though Jennifer Lawerence and Leonardo DiCaprio are Oscar-winning, the movie features an absurdly talented cast. A few of them are blink-and-youll-miss-em in the trailer, but theres Timothe Chalamet, Cate Blanchett, Tyler Perry, Rob Morgan, Jonah Hill, Mark Rylance, Ron Perlman, Arianda Grande, and Meryl Streep ( playing the president, of course) .
DiCaprio may not be well-known for his portrayal of meek, inept members of the hoi poi, but the movie is sure to make him feel better. It is quite true that he depicts a man experiencing a panic attack presumably after discovering the Earth's imminent end. However, it is also funny to see Great Gatsby and Wolf of Wall Street completely overwhelmed by everything. Maybe that's just me.
Netflix will be streaming Dont Look Back on December 24th, which should make it a truly unique holiday movie experience. The movie will still be available in theaters on December 10th, for a limited run. This is to submit the film to the Academy Awards. Still, looks good!
