Hulu’s monthly prices increase by $1 as Disney pushes its streaming bundle

Hulus streaming plans start at $1 more from October 8th. The ad supported tier will go up to $6.99 per month, while the ad-free plan will go up to $12.99 per month. Variety reports that Hulus' live TV service is not increasing in price, and also offers access to streaming content. Disney, which is the majority owner of Hulu has raised the prices of its streaming services in the last year. This makes the bundle that includes all three of them more appealing.
Although the price of the Disney bundle (which includes Hulu and Disney Plus as well as ESPN Plus) doesn't seem to be increasing along with Hulus prices, it did increase by one dollar when Disney Plus received a $1 per-month price hike. The current price is $13.99 per monthly for an ad-supported Hulu version and $19.99 per month for an ad free Hulu version. Bundles are a great deal if you want all of the services. It will save you $8 per month over buying them separately (after the Hulu price changes). According to Disney's CEO, the company is pushing the bundle.

If you have an existing Hulu subscription before signing up for the Disney Bundle billing will be handled by first charging the regular Hulu price, then offering a discount on your Disney Plus subscription. Hulus support Twitter account confirmed that the price for the Disney Bundle will not increase due to price increases.

Justin, it's you! The above price changes will not affect the prices of the Disney Bundle or Live TV plans. If you have any questions, please let us know! Hulu Support (@hulu_support) September 7, 2021

Hulu isn't resting on its laurels after its last price hike. Subscribers have been able to access HDR, which allows them to watch original movies and shows, and Watch Party, which lets friends and family watch the same shows. You can decide if these features and the content on the service are worth $7 or $13 per month, but October will determine the price of admission.
