It was inevitable, we knew it, you also knew it would be here, but it is now that the wait game has ended. Apple has just sent invites for its iPhone 13 launch party, which will take place on September 14th at 10 a.m. PST/1 p.m. ET. ET. The event will also be streamed online for the second consecutive year, instead of being held in person at Apple Park.

Apple likes to tease the content of its events by using cryptic taglines or art. The invite today uses the description California streaming to refer to the fact that we are once again in for a live streamed launch event. Though there was some speculation that we might be returning to Apple Park in-person events earlier this year, the covid-19 Delta variant has put a halt to that possibility for a while.
We expected to see four iPhone 13 models, just like the iPhone 12: a regular iPhone 13 model, a 13 Pro Max, 13 Pro Max and, most likely, an iPhone 13 Mini. We have a good idea of Apple's plans after months of speculation. Expect a smaller notch and enhanced video features on Pro models. Wi-Fi 6E support is available for Pro models. Larger batteries are possible and a stronger MagSafe array. You might also want to consider your wallet. According to recent reports, the iPhone 13 models could be more costly due to the continuing global shortage of chips.
The iPhone 13 is not the only thing that we may see. It is possible that the Apple Watch Series 7, AirPods 3 and a new iPad Mini will also be on display. The Apple Watch Series 7 was widely expected and could launch alongside the new iPhones. However, recent rumors suggest that the device may be delayed because of production problems. Leaked renders show a watch with a larger display and a flat-edged design. It is possible that the Series 7 will not make it to market until Apple fixes its production problems.

The AirPods 3 are expected to go on sale Sept. 30 and borrow many design elements from the AirPods Pro. We expect a redesign of the iPad Mini that is closer to the iPad Air, with thinner bezels and no home buttons. It will also have a faster chip and USB-C.
We won't have to wait long to see what Apple hardware is available for purchase this fall. Gizmodo will continue to provide liveblogs and analysis. We'll be back next week with more coverage.
