Remedy Entertainment's 2010 cult-classic Alan Wake will be remastered for multiple platforms. Epic Games Publishing will release Alan Wake Remastered on PlayStation 4/5, Xbox Series S/X and Epic Games Store for PC.
Alan Wake, an Xbox 360 exclusive title, went through a lengthy development period. It is a psychological thriller in which you play as a writer who searches for his wife missing in the Pacific Northwest. Alan Wake Remastered will be the first time that the game has been made available on PlayStation.
Epic claims that the remaster will include all-new rendered 4K visuals and commentary by Sam Lake (creative director). The pulp horror spinoff Alan Wakes American Nightmare, which is influenced by pulp horror, doesn't seem to be included.
Epic published two titles last year with Remedy. One title was described by the studio as an AAA multi-platform production. The other is a smaller project within the same universe. It is not known if Alan Wake Remastered is this project. If so, it could indicate a possible sequel to Alan Wake. Remedy's last game, Control, was a highly acclaimed title that included subtle references to Alan Wake.
Although there is no release date yet for Alan Wake Remastered, Epic claims it will be available in the fall.
