Financial automation startup Aurelia raises $3M Seed round led by Blossom Capital – TechCrunch

Blossom Capital has led $3 million of seed funding for Aurelia, a financial automation platform.
Aurelia describes itself as an IFTTT for finance that targets small businesses who want to integrate their bank account with financial tools. This gives them more control over cash flow, taxes, and automates normally manual tasks without any knowledge of code.

Through his Zinal Growth investment vehicle, Guillaume Pousaz (founder & CEO of Checkout.com), and Erez Mathan ("ex-COO and COO at GoCardless") are some examples of angel investors.

Sebastian Trif was one of the original engineers at Transferwise, Jasper August Toes and founded Aurelia.

Trif stated: While we see many fintech apps and banks trying to capture all a company has, many small businesses don't want to move their financial lives into a new product.

Blossom Capital founder Ophelia Brown said that she was a small-business owner and knows firsthand the difficulties of managing their finances and accounts. Aurelia was the perfect solution after years of searching.

Trif said: We are competing with established plugin packs that you need to have on top accounting software such as Quickbooks and Xero. Smart SME banking solutions like Tide, Revolut for Business, and Wise for Business have better features.

Aurelias beta platform goes live now in Estonia, Romania and Germany.
