Microsoft Flight Simulator’s Top Gun expansion also delayed to 2022

Microsoft's Top Gun expansion for Microsoft Flight Simulator has been delayed in order to align with the movie's shifted release date. Paramount earlier this month announced that it would delay the release of all its 2021 films. Top Gun: Maverick will now be released on May 27th 2022, instead of the Thanksgiving weekend release.
According to Microsoft and Asobo Studio, the Top Gun expansion for Microsoft Flight Simulator was originally planned for later in the year. It will now be released along with the movie. Asobo Studio has not revealed much information about the Top Gun expansion. We do know that there are some locations and jets from Top Gun: Maverick. According to a blog post by Microsoft's Flight Simulator team, we look forward sharing more information.

Microsoft first announced the Top Gun expansion earlier this year at E3 along with the launch of Microsoft Flight Simulator on the Xbox Series X / S.

Top Gun: Maverick was moved to 2022 by Paramount due to concerns about the delta variant and an increase in COVID-19 cases. Jackass Forever will also be delayed until next year. Mission: Impossible 7 is now scheduled for September 30, 2022.
