Which credit card is best to buy miles?
Flying Blue mileage purchases can be processed by points.com and are not considered airfare purchases for credit card purposes. It is best to use a card with minimal spending or a credit card that offers the highest return on your everyday spending.
Normally, I would say that it would be a card such as the Citi Double Cash Card (review) and Chase Freedom Unlimited (review). However, that is not the case here since these cards charge foreign transaction fees.
For more information on the best credit cards for buying points, see this post.
Flying Blue miles: Should you purchase?
Flying Blue has dynamic award pricing. The pricing is based on distance. Although it's not one of my favourite frequent flyer programs, I do enjoy using it quite a lot.
Flying Blue Promo Awards offer great value and Flying Blue has access to more award tickets for travel on Air France or KLM metal.
Flying Blue offers more award seats to its members than it does to those who are part of partner programs. Flying Blue can be a good option, even if the program pricing isn't the most competitive.
Flying Blue miles can be used to redeem for KLM's 787 business class
Flying Blue Miles can also be earned in other ways
Flying Blue is a transfer partner with American Express, Brex Capital One, Chase and Citi. There are many ways to earn points with Flying Blue.
Bottom line
Air France-KLM Flying Blue's latest promotion for purchased miles has been launched. Members can buy miles and receive up to a 100 percent bonus. This promotion is comparable to the Flying Blue promotions when you purchase miles. Flying Blue miles can be earned in many other ways, so it is not for everyone.
