Sure, awards are cool. Have you ever been given a shout out on Ted Lasso?
If football is your life, you will find it hard to believe that you can be mentioned in the fun sports comedy.
Season 2 of Ted Lasso is just like Season 1. It started streaming on Apple TV+ July 23 and features witty jokes, pop culture references and a lot more. Ted and his Richmond crew love to cite famous musicians, authors, and other notable figures. Because the show is so great, celebrities can't help but exclaim over their shoutouts.
These are some familiar faces that have already replied to Ted Lasso Season 2's mentions.
1. Lin-Manuel Miranda
It was amazing to see Coach Lasso and coach Beard exchange. It's even more special knowing that Miranda, an actor, singer and songwriter, as well as a producer, playwright and playwright, knows that football is a way of life. It's something you love to see.
2. Reba McEntire
Ted helped Roy Kent use the alias of "Reba McEntire", to get his Richmond tickets. Reba (aka Red Lasso), shared her experience on Twitter, saying that she was shocked to hear her name in Season 2, Episode 5. Ted then assured her that she could pick up her tickets under the name of "Roy Kent" if she ever wishes to go to a game. Adorable.
3. Pearl Jam
Even Pearl Jam couldn't resist the Ted Lasso vibe. It's quite inspiring, you have to admit.
4. Drew Barrymore
There is nothing better than Ted Lasso's speech on believing in rom communism. Drew Barrymore, rom-com icon and actress Drew Barrymore watched Ted's speech on rom-communism. She screamed over her shout-out.
5. Diane Sawyer
Watching legendary broadcast journalist Diane Sawyer take to Twitter for the first time in more than a year to share a shot with Ted Lasso. We ship.
6. Bren Brown
Bren Brown was, as any Ted Lasso fan would, perfectly cool when she heard about the Season 2 shoutout. No big deal. Coach Beard, there's nothing to see.
7. Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney
Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney responded to the Ted Lasso joke with great effort. Higgins informed Rebecca that he had just received a call by AFC Wrexham’s new owners, Reynolds and McElhenney.
Higgins stated, "I don't know if they bought the club as a joke"
The context is that the actors and their friends co-own the Welsh soccer club under the company "RR McReynolds" and they wrote a very formal letter asking Ted Lasso to cease and desist in casting doubt on their ownership. They also mentioned McElhenney's Mythic Quest comedy on Apple TV+ and threatened legal action if they did not receive Ted's biscuits promptly.
Ted delivered, as you might imagine.
Each episode of Ted Lasso introduces new jokes and references to pop culture to the fans. Some jokes are obvious while others are subtle. The best are the ones that make it to the hearts of their inspirations.
We will update the list with any celebrity responses.
You can stream the first six episodes of Ted Lasso Season 2 on Apple TV+. New episodes are added every Friday.
