Newsweek reported that a South Miami doctor said she won't treat unvaccinated patients because it is unfair on other people.

Linda Marraccini, Dr. Linda Marraccini, stated that she implemented the policy because she has other patients with immunocompromised and/or in chemotherapy. She does not want them exposed to the virus in her clinic.

Marraccini told Newsweek that it was unfair for unvaccinated people to cause harm to others. She continued to see patients during the pandemic.

She insisted that she wasn't violating the Hippocratic Oath. Many doctors still consider it sacred.

"The Hippocratic Oath has a lot of science behind it. I'm following the science. She said, "I'm applying it to the benefit of those who are sick."

Marraccini said, "Responsibility must be with each individual." "This is a global issue in health, and everyone has a part of it."

Marraccini stated that she will continue to see unvaccinated patients but only via virtual meetings. Marraccini said she would make exceptions for those who are unable to get the vaccine for medical reasons.

According to Newsweek, she insists that "We are not going to leave [them] out in the cold."

Florida is currently experiencing the worst COVID-19 wave since the pandemic. This is due in large part to the Delta variant, which is highly contagious.

According to The New York Times, just over half (54%) of Florida's residents are fully vaccinated. Data from Johns Hopkins University shows that more than 46,000 people have died from the virus in Florida so far.
