New Zealand continued to impress with their start in the Rugby Championship, winning a Bledisloe cup whitewash of Australia in Perth.

Half-time saw the All Blacks leading 18-0, even though they were reduced to just 14 players for 20 minutes. Jordie Barrett was then sent off and the All Blacks won a bonus point victory.

New Zealand defeated the Wallabies by 57-22 in Rugby Championship opener, a week after their Bledisloe Cup victory.

The postponement for the third match by Australia was a major disappointment to Dave Rennie, Australia's coach.

Originally, the fixture was to be played on 28 August. However, New Zealand refused to travel due to new coronavirus restrictions. Rennie said that his players were informed about the delay via social media.

Barrett's red card, for a boot to Marika Koroibete's face while jumping to catch kicks, may have fueled the Wallabies' fire.

A law that was being tested in the Rugby Championship allows a player to be replaced after receiving a red card. Damian McKenzie's arrival has brought New Zealand back upto 15 players.

The numerical advantage enjoyed by the hosts in the interim was not exploited and the three second-half attempts were not sufficient to challenge the All Blacks' dominance.

Given that regular captain Sam Whitelock, first-choice backs Richie Mo'unga (and Aaron Smith) remained in New Zealand to give birth to their children, the visitors' win is even more impressive.

"We just had the job to do... and I'm proud of the boys today," Ardie Savea said, taking over the captaincy from Whitelock.

"Just shows how deep our team is."

After two games, New Zealand is top of the Rugby Championship Table. They host Argentina on September 12, when Australia plays in South Africa.
