The long-standing murmurs about an Alan Wake revival may have some merit. Wario64, a well-known sleuth, has found Rakuten listings to purchase an Alan Wake Remastered game that will launch on Xbox Series X/S and PS4, PS5, Xbox One on October 5. Although the store pages don't reveal much, it is safe to assume that you will see improvements in resolution and other upgrades similar to the 2010 psychological thriller.
Remedy has been a Microsoft ally for 11 years. They have released high-profile titles like Quantum Break and Alan Wake as exclusive Xbox and PC games, while also releasing a few mobile games (such as Death Rally Reboot) over the last year. Remedy reclaimed publishing rights to Alan Wake in 2019 and signaled its independence on the platform with Control on PlayStation and eventually the Nintendo Switch.
Microsoft will continue to support the studio with exclusives such as CrossfireX, an online shooter. The listings indicate that Remedy is looking to expand its horizons, including resurrecting old games that many PlayStation owners have never had the chance to play.
