Mullin tried to enter Afghanistan with large amounts of cash to save Americans who hadn't been evacuated.
Last week, Mullin was denied permission by the Defense Department to visit Kabul.

Biden stated that between 100 and 200 Americans are still in Afghanistan as of August 31, 2012.

After numerous rescue missions in Afghanistan by freelancers, Rep. Markwayne Mullin (R-Okla.) told Fox News' Brett Baier, "blood is on [President Joe Biden]'s] hands."

Mullin claimed that he tried to enter Afghanistan via Georgia or Tajikistan, using a large amount of cash to pass through Taliban checkpoints. He also rented a helicopter to aid in a rescue mission. The Washington Post reported that Mullin's attempt to enter Afghanistan via Georgia and Tajikistan was unsuccessful when John Mark Pommersheim (the US ambassador to Tajikistan) declined to help him with Tajikistan's cash limit laws.

Similar attempts were made one week earlier when Mullin went to Greece, but the Defense Department denied him permission for Kabul.

Mullin stated that he has 50 Americans in Afghanistan who are desperate to escape.

Baier asked Mullin whether he believes the US can get the remaining Americans out Afghanistan. He replied that he believed so, "We're going get some, but some are going to die due to the failure of President Biden."

According to the Associated Press, Biden stated that 100 to 200 Americans are still in Afghanistan with an intention to leave in his speech on August 31, about the end to the 20-year war.
