New York police were called by a parent to report that their child was being removed from school for refusing a mask.
Six students from Islip Middle School were sent by the gym to exercise because they didn't wear masks.
According to a spokesperson for police, an officer received a report from The New York Post but it was not a police matter.

Long Island, New York: A parent called police after their child refused to wear a mask. The child was taken from class and placed in the auditorium along with five other children who didn't want them.
According to the New York Post six students from Islip Middle School were taken out of class by school security officers because they did not comply with school policies that required masks.
"As we have discussed with our community, any district student that does not adhere the mask mandate will been brought to an alternate location where students can either put on a face mask or wait for their parent/guardian pick them up," Islip Superintendent Dennis O'Hara stated to ABC 7.
According to ABC 7, the parent called Suffolk County Police around 9:50 Thursday morning - the first day in school for the district.
According to a spokesperson for police, the matter was not police-related but that an officer had "taken a report."
New York Governor Kathy Hochul, the New York Governor, announced at the end August 24 that she had directed the state's health department to require students, staff and visitors to schools to wear masks. In July, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommended that all US students and faculty wear masks throughout the school day.
As the school year starts, masks in schools are at the forefront of the political debate. School officials try to force them to stop COVID-19-related school closings. In Texas, Florida, Tennessee, and other states, GOP governors have tried to prohibit schools from requiring them.
A spokesperson for the district said that no children were seen wearing masks at the middle school on Friday.
