David Spade claims his stage name could as well be Marlon Blando because he keeps his standup comedy very vanilla to avoid the cancel culture mob.

David was at LAX, and our photographer asked him about Mike Richards' fall at "Jeopardy!" ... And if David is still awake at night worrying over jokes he made back in the day.

David admits that he is concerned about his standup set, and crosses his fingers that his jokes won't cause a mob.

David views it this way: audiences don't want comedians shaking the tree. He follows the playbook and plays safe. But he also says that there is collateral damage. It's just too funny.

David claims that Mike's whole situation just fell apart when he switched from "Jeopardy!" Alex Trebek was promoted to executive producer.
