Wisconsin Badgers linebacker Leo Chenal tests positive for COVID-19, out 2 games

Leo Chenal, Wisconsin's starting linebacker, will be absent for the No. 12 Badgers -- Saturday's opening against No. 19 Penn State -- After testing positive for COVID-19 he stated on social media.
Chenal shared the following message on Instagram: "To all my family and friends, I have tested positive to Covid and will miss 2 more games," Chenal wrote. "That aside, it is exciting to see the boys win it today."

Chenal, who played seven games last season for the Nittany Tigers, will also be absent from Saturday's match against them. Next week, Chenal will not play in the scheduled game against Central Michigan.

Chenal was honored with All-Big Ten honorable notice for his 40 tackles and three sacks as a team in 2020.

Wisconsin also stated that linebacker Aaron Witt and cornerback Deron Hairrell were not available for Saturday's match against Penn State. Their absences were not explained.
