I lost 70 pounds in just eight months, but I made sure to eat delicious food along the way.

Particularly, I ensured that I had plenty of delicious things I could reach for between meals.

These are my top picks for snacks

To make the best jalapeno poppers, I use Laughing Cow Cheese

Two wedges of pepperjack Laughing Cow cheese (any flavor) were placed on six jalapeno halves. I then topped them with low-fat mozzarella and microwaved them.

Each one is approximately 15 calories in weight and takes no more than five minutes to prepare.

Apple Nachos are my favorite dessert

I love to cut up any type of apple and drizzle it in low-calorie peanut butter.

Turkey, lettuce, cheese and cheese roll-ups are great for snacking or as a main meal.

These would be great as a snack, or you could make several to have a quick lunch. My favorite combination was lettuce with sliced turkey, cheddar cheese and mustard or guacamole.

I loved to make Greek yogurt taste like chocolate mousse

Plain Greek yogurt is boring to me so I add unsweetened cocoa power, choc chips and other fruit. This transforms a bland breakfast into a delicious dessert.

I make a yogurt bowl to satisfy my cheesecake cravings

I love creating strawberry-cheesecake-inspired bowls. You only need strawberry yogurt, fresh strawberries, and graham-cracker crumbles.

A classic combination is pretzel thins and hummus

There are many combinations possible.

My favourite is garlic-parmesan Thins and jalapeo–cilantro Hummus. If I have the time, some guacamole might be my choice.

Easy to make banana 'Snickers.

These can be made by topping banana slices with peanuts, caramel, and sugar-free cocoa. This can be eaten right away, or frozen for a delicious midnight snack.

Grapes can taste like sour candy with lime juice

Simply chop your grapes, and then squeeze some lime juice on top. You can either eat immediately or freeze.

Low-sugar chocolate chips go well with light popcorn

This was a great dish to serve after dinner. It had the perfect balance of sweet and salty.

This can be done with any low-calorie popcorn, but I prefer kettle corn.

Celery goes well with guacamole

Celery can be packed with so many wonderful things, and it is great for quick meals. I also found celery to be very filling when paired up with guac. I like to pair celery with peanut butter or hummus.
