Remi Allen made her debut at Aston Villa by winning against Leicester City in an absorbing Women's Super League match.

After Hannah Hampton's mistake, Natasha Flint put Leicester City into the lead.

Villa scored two goals in just a few minutes after the half-time break.

Sarah Mayling equalized with a stunning free-kick, before skipper Allen scored the winner from close range to give Carla Ward's team three points.

Leicester led for 39 minutes and was a good value.

Hampton had made an impressive save to stop Flint. However, she was left holding her head in both her hands after allowing Flint to try to spin off her gloves.

Villa proved to be more powerful after the interval and were levelled by Mayling's stunning set-piece.

While home fans were still celebrating Allen's win 2-1, they were left with a scare when Hampton denied substitute Lachante Paul an equalizer in stoppage time.

Villa is now preparing for West Ham's game on September 11, while Leicester will be looking to draw lessons from their first match in England's top-tier.

This evidence shows that the Foxes have a lot to offer this season.
