United Airlines extends validity of unused tickets

United Airlines has extended the validity for all tickets that were not used during the pandemic until 2022.
The carrier previously set March 31 as the ticket expiration date.

The new policy will allow tickets to be valid from May 1, 2019 through December 31, 2022. Tickets purchased after January 1, 2020 will expire 12 months later.

United resumes allow for changes to basic economy tickets

United will allow customers to change basic economy tickets until the end of this year. The carrier does not allow basic economy ticket changes, but it allowed such changes until April 30, due to the pandemic.

Retroactively, the latest basic economy waiver applies to tickets purchased between April 30 and Aug. 11, for travel beginning between Aug. 11 & Dec. 31.
