While the occidental varsity theme may seem like a chance inspiration for a French luxury house, Givenchy artistic director Clare Waight Keller became enamored with the style after living in the US for years and saw firsthand how these sports trends were embraced on the streets. Using the letterman jacket as its source inspiration, Keller distilled the varsity elements into a single motif that would form the basis of the capsule: the number '52.'

Displayed prominently on the backs of each piece, not unlike a sports jersey, the number 52 commemorates the year Hubert de Givenchy launched his fashion house, while textured "iron on" patches channel collegiate vibes on the front. The black T-shirt and hoodie drops in XS - 3XL sizing while the white tee comes in XS - L, making them stylish unisex options for the whole squad.
