Philips Hue Line Gains New Gradient-Enabled Lights, Updated Filament Bulbs and More

Signify, Philips Hue's parent company, today announced several new Hue options. The most notable of these include the gradient technology that was introduced to the Philips Hue Play Lightstrip last summer.

The Philips Hue Play Gradient Light tube is designed to be placed above or below a television, adding multiple lighting colors in one lighting fixture. To match your home theater setups, the Light Tube is available in black or white.

The Philips Hue Ambiance Gradient Lightstrip and the Philips Hue Signe Floor and Table Lamps will be upgraded to provide better lighting functionality.

There are other lighting improvements coming. The new White Filament E14 Candle Bulb and all Hue Filament bulbs are now available in White Ambiance. This allows users to choose any color of warm-to cool light. The previous Filament bulbs only offered warm yellow light.

The Color Ambiance and White bulbs come in 1100 lumen and 1600 lumen versions (75W and 100W equivalents), so that users can select the brightness level they require.

The new Philips Hue Infuse Ceiling Lightings will be available in 2022. They offer white or colored light and indirect light to the ceiling.

Signify will be launching an update to the Philips Hue app, which will include new dynamic scenes. Dynamic scenes allow lights to slowly change between the various colors within a scene. This update will also bring about a new Philips Hue Spotify integration. Philips Hue lights can change color and brightness depending on the Spotify song playing.

The Hue app will have a new Hue scene gallery in the fall. These scenes are intended to last 24 hours. These scenes will adjust in brightness with time, to mimic the sun's movements over the course of a day. Signify will also be updating the software for the Philips Hue Play HDMI Sync Box to make it compatible with the latest 120Hz refresh rates on the most recent game consoles. The SyncBox supports 120Hz and can display images at 1080p or 1440p resolutions. 4K will not be supported at 60Hz, as it is right now.

The new products will go on sale today at the Philips Hue site. White Ambiance, White Ambiance and White and Color Ambiance 1100 (75W bulbs), are available now and will be priced at $14.99, $24.99 and $49.99 for a single bulb.

Today's White Ambiance Hue Filament Bulbs as well as the Filament Candle are available at prices between $29.99 to $49.99. The Hue Ambiance Gradient Lightstrip, which will retail for $169.99 on October 1, will also be available as an extension for $69.99.

The Philips Hue Signe Table and Floor lamps will go on sale October 12, at a price of $200 (table), and $300 (floor). On October 12, the White, White Ambiance and Color Ambiance 1600 lumens (100W), bulbs will be on sale for $19.99, $39.99 and $59.99.
