Sources told ESPN that Texas A&M has extended Jimbo Fisher's contract, which will see him earn more than $9million annually.

Fisher is entering his fourth season at Texas A&M. He originally signed a 10-year contract worth $75 million when he was fired from Florida State. After leading the Seminoles' football program for eight years, Fisher had previously signed a $75 million contract that would have cost him ten years. Fisher's new contract will continue for 10 years and run through the 2030 season. It will be worth more that $90 million.

He is now second behind Nick Saban, Alabama's highest-paid coach in college football. Saban was granted a raise and an extension this summer, which will increase his annual salary to $10.6 million through 2028.

Fisher finished at 26-10 over three seasons at Texas A&M.

The Aggies are ranked No. 6 in the preseason poll by The Associated Press, will open the 2021 season against Kent State on Saturday. They were ranked No. 6 in the College Football Playoff last year, finishing one spot short. After winning eight consecutive games, they are now ranked No. 4 nationally. This includes a win over North Carolina in Capital One Orange Bowl (41-27).

Fisher led the Seminoles to a 2013 national championship at Florida State. In six of his eight seasons at Florida State, Fisher won at least 10 games.

The Houston Chronicle first reported that Fisher had been granted a raise as well as an extension.
