Rajon Rondo dismisses fears that the Lakers won't be able to compete for the NBA championship next year. (0:51).
Rajon Rondo knows a lot about what it takes for a championship to be won. He was also introduced as a Los Angeles Laker, and he stated that the team's advanced age will only make it easier to pursue another one.

Rondo stated that wisdom is a key ingredient in winning a championship. With our experience and age, we have a lot of it. I am most excited to no longer be the oldest player on the team. I'm about [fifth] oldest now. That's a huge step from when I was two months ago the oldest man on the team. Now, I'm one the young guys."

The Lakers are the oldest NBA team this season with Carmelo Anthony (37), LeBron Jam (36), Marc Gasol (36) Trevor Ariza (36) & Dwight Howard (35). Rondo, 35 years old, believes that the Lakers' age is a positive. However, he sees it as a motivation.

Rondo stated, "I'm looking forward, looking forward the naysayers claiming our age is a problem. But you don't have longevity without discipline in this league." We have guys who have the mileage, but there's still a reason that they're still playing at this level of league for so many years. So, I don't worry about the spectators or anything. The mind will be key to our success this year, I believe."

After last season being split between the Atlanta Hawks, Los Angeles Clippers and Rondo, Rondo joined the Lakers. In the Eric Bledsoe trade, the Clippers traded Rondo to Memphis. He also agreed to a contract buyout from the Grizzlies. He signed with the Lakers after clearing waivers. He'll be a valuable addition to the Lakers' backcourt, supporting Russell Westbrook, who was recently acquired.

Rondo stated that playing with Westbrook brought him more excitement and energy. "Looking forward for a lot of competitive competitions with him, and other guys on this team. It's a great team, and I look forward to practicing with them every day.

Rondo was injured last season and wasn't able to play a significant role in the Clippers' rotation. He expects to be in good health and be a factor with the Lakers this season.

Rondo stated, "It hasn’t been 10 years. I don’t think I’ve changed much, and I don’t believe my game has diminished." Your coach can only believe in you. Looking at the Lakers roster and team this year, I see where I am at my career. However, I believe I can still bring much to the game. My main focus is to win.

Rondo stated that his past relationships were a major factor in his desire to return to the Lakers. He cited a trust in coach Frank Vogel as well as his relationship with James and Anthony Davis. Rondo, a two-time champion was a major contributor to the Lakers' victory in 2020 in Orlando.

Rondo stated that "we didn't get our march, coming off over one year of being champions, but we want it again." "I want a parade in LA and this team is special.
