Ronaldo has won more Champions Leagues than any other player
Manchester United welcomes Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Portugal forward, who has scored many goals and collected a lot of trophies since leaving Old Trafford in the past, is making a remarkable return to the Red Devils.

Wins first Premier League title (2007)
"At the beginning, nobody had heard of Ronaldo. But by the end everyone knew."
This was the opinion of Mikael Silvestre (external-link), a former United defender who played against Sporting Lisbon in an informal pre-season friendly prior to the 2003-04 season.
After a spectacular performance in the friendly, Sir Alex Ferguson convinced Ronaldo to join United. He played 292 games and won the Premier League title in 2007.
Award-winning goal by Puskas (2009)
Ronaldo scored 118 goals in Manchester United's Champions League win against Porto. He picked up the ball from 40 yards before launching a shot into the top corner.
This effort was awarded the Fifa Puskas Award for Goal of the Year.
United reached the second consecutive Champions League final but were defeated by Barcelona in Ronaldo’s last match before he signed an 80m deal to Real Madrid that year.
Copa del Rey Finale Winner (2011)

Ronaldo began to pay the world record fee after he scored the winning goal in the Copa del Rey final against bitter rivals Barcelona.
Ronaldo rose at the far end to power in a signature header from Angel di Maria's cross, and delivered his first trophy for club.
Real's all time leading scorer (2015)
Real's nine-season record for goalscoring was remarkable. Ronaldo scored 450 goals in only 438 games.
With a goal against Levante, he became the club's leading scorer in October 2015. He surpassed Raul, who had only scored 323 goals.
His 2014-15 campaign was his most prolific, scoring 61 goals in 54 games, at an amazing rate of an average of a goal every 72 minutes.
Portugal wins Euros (2016)
Ronaldo was finally able to enjoy international success with Portugal when he won the 2016 European Championship in Paris with victory over France.
It was bittersweet for the captain, who was taken off in tears after only 25 minutes. But he managed to lift the trophy.
Wins fifth Ballon d'Or (2017)
The Ballon d'Or was awarded 62 times - Cristiano Rorolo won it in 2008 and 2013, 2014, 2016, 2016 and 2017.
Ronaldo won the Ballon d'Or award for best player in the world in 2008, 2013, 2014 and 2016.
This was after a remarkable 2016-17 season, in which he led Real to the La Liga title. He also won the Champions League final. In that final, he scored twice against Juventus.
One hundred years of Champions League goals (2018)
Ronaldo was the first player to join the Champions League's 100 club. He was later joined by Lionel Messi, an old rival.
He scored two goals against Paris St-Germain during the 16th quarter to surpass the century mark. He remains the competition's top scorer with 134 goals in 176 matches.

Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane’s reaction was a perfect example.
He held his hand to his head and, with a disbelief look on his face at the sight, he turned his head and bowed his approval. Ronaldo leapt into the air and then acrobatically landed in the corner of the net with a bicycle kick.
Juventus fans were able to cheer on the player in the Champions League quarterfinal.
Five Champions League wins (2018) for the first player
Ronaldo won two La Liga titles at Real Madrid and two Copa del Rey awards. But it was in Europe's elite club competition that he became a legend.
After winning the Champions League with United in 2008, he won it again four times with Real. He won the Champions League in 2008, and then he won it again in 2014. In 2016, 2017, and 2018, he became the first player to win five times.
Record for equal men in international goals (2021)
Ronaldo also reached another landmark earlier in the year with his two penalties in Portugal’s 2-2 European Championship draw against France, which took him to 109 international goals.
This is Ali Daei's joint world record in men's soccer, which he scored 109 goals for Iran from 1993 to 2006.
The landmark achievement further cementated the 36-year old's status as an all-time high-flyer.
