Odsonne Edouard completes medical on £14m Crystal Palace move as Celtic line up Giorgos Giakoumakis

Odssone Edouard is likely to be replaced at Celtic by Giorgos Giakoumakis

Odsonne Edouard passed a medical, and will sign a five year contract as part of a 14m transfer from Celtic to Crystal Palace.

Celtic will replace Edouard, a French striker, with Giorgos Giakoumakis of VVV-Venlo.

Giakoumakis, a Greece striker, was the top scorer in Eredivisie last season with 26 goals. VVVV-Venlo were relegated.

26-year old has scored one in six appearances for his nation.

France's Under-21 international Edouard scored 88 goals in 179 games since joining Celtic in 2017 from Paris St-Germain. He was initially on loan.

He moved to Glasgow in 2018 for a club record amount of over 8 million. He has won three Scottish Premiership titles as well as four domestic cups with Celtic.

The summer transfer window closes on Tuesday, 23:00 BST in England and one hour later in Scotland.
