Sevilla insists that Jules Kounde cannot leave for less than 80 million euros

Sevilla has rejected Chelsea's "unsatisfactory offer" for France defender Jules Kounde.

The Spanish club insists that Kounde will not be allowed into the Blues for less 80 million euros than the release clause.

Monchi, the sporting director of Sevilla, stated that a bid for the 22-year old was rejected.

He said, "The only formal offer from Chelsea was last Wednesday."

"We were not satisfied with the offer and it was tied to Chelsea selling a football player. Although it was a fair amount, it did not meet our criteria.

"We have not spoken to Chelsea since Friday night."

After Kurt Zouma's departure to West Ham, the Blues were heavily involved in Kounde's summer. They are hopeful that a deal can be struck.

Kounde, who joined La Liga in 2019, made 91 appearances for Sevilla. He has attracted the attention many top clubs in Europe.

Monchi added, "There has been much talk about moves for Jules. The majority of these were rejected by the player."

"Chelsea was the club that he loved the look of.

If Chelsea wants to complete a deal before Tuesday's transfer deadline, Chelsea must meet the release clause or submit an acceptable offer to Sevilla.
