Brighton has signed Marc Cucurella, a Spain defender from Getafe, on a five year deal.

Cucurella, 23 years old, can play as either a left-back, or as a wide middlefielder. The fee is estimated to be 15.4m.

This Barcelona academy graduate was instrumental in helping Spain win silver at this summer's Tokyo Olympics.

"We've been eager to bring Marc to the club and we are delighted to finally welcome him," Brighton boss Graham Potter stated.

He has made a great impression on the national team and La Liga.

"He is versatile and will bring competition and options to our squad."

Cucurella is the third Seagulls summer signing, following Enock Mwepu & Kjell Scherpen.
