Tottenham has made a bid for Emerson Royal, Barcelona's right-back, in the amount of 25.73m (30m).
Personal terms for Barcelona players are not likely to be a problem if they accept the bid.
Arsenal was also interested in Emerson's signing, but Emerson prefers to move to Spurs.
Nuno Espirito Sante, Tottenham's boss, is looking to strengthen his defensive options after playing Japhet Tanganga as right-back in the Premier League games. Serge Aurier has been out of favour at the club.
Brazilian Emerson moved to Barcelona from Atletico Mineiro in 2019. After moving to Real Betis, he returned to Barcelona this summer to exercise a buyback clause.
The 22-year old was a regular player under Manuel Pellegrini, and helped Betis to the Europa League last year.
