Trump to head to Iowa with an eye on 2024

Trump is slow to announce his plans, leaving top Republicans and others in political limbo. Trump declined to answer questions about his plans for running in 2024, but he said that people would be pleased with his decision.
Trump is preparing for a bid behind the scenes. According to a spokesperson, Trump hired two Iowa operatives Eric Branstad, and Alexander Latcham earlier this month to help him cover a wide political portfolio that focuses on supporting Save America's goals to elect strong, Pro Trump, America First conservatives.

Trump spoke out about his plans to visit Iowa on Monday's Todd Starnes radio program. Multiple Trump aides confirmed that plans are being made. The Iowa GOP caucus will not be affected by Trump's decision to run. Kollin Crompton, spokesperson for the Iowa GOP, answered that the caucus would still be open if Trump decideds to run.

Trump said that he would visit Georgia where he was expected to rally support and rail against Republican Gov. Brian Kemp, who he blames for his state's 2020 loss. Trumps Save America PAC commissioned a poll last week that showed Kemp on shaky ground during a GOP primary.

In 2016, Trump lost the Iowa GOP Caucus to Cruz. He then accused Cruz of fraud. There is no evidence of this. Trump won Iowa in the general election. Iowa was won by Trump 53.1 percent to 44.9% in 2020.

Although the order and dates of the 2024 presidential primaries are not yet known, Iowa's Republican party chair Jeff Kaufmann was appointed to the GOPs Presidential Nominating Process Committee.
