Trump complained on a radio show that the media spent 'all night' Sunday covering the devastation wrought by Hurricane Ida instead of his 'great agreement' with the Taliban

Trump complained to Todd Starnes, a radio host, that the media had been covering Hurricane Ida all weekend.
He said that the news channels did not discuss the "great agreement" he reached with the Taliban.

Former president singled out CNN, MSNBC and other networks but called them "MSDNC" instead.

On August 30, former President Donald Trump spoke on radio and lamented that the media spent too much time on Hurricane Ida instead of covering his "great agreement with the Taliban".

"All they spoke about was the hurricane. These are terrible. You can see CNN and MSDNC. They're unfortunately way down in ratings but they only want to talk about the hurricane or any other topic they can discuss," Trump said Monday to conservative radio host Todd Starnes, deliberately mixing up MSNBC.

"Afghanistan cannot even be discussed in rational terms. Trump stated, "The level of stupidity was so high that we reached a great deal."

After Hurricane Ida struck Louisiana on Sunday, one million homes may have been destroyed or damaged along the Gulf Coast. One person may have died and Louisianans could be without power for up to three weeks.

Tens of thousands of people were evacuated but are still unable return to their homes despite Ida being downgraded to a hurricane on Monday.

He spoke about the media not reporting on his understanding with Taliban leaders. "Abdul" is likely to refer to Mullah Abdul Ghani, a Taliban leader who chose not to kill Americans.

Trump stated, "We would have hit the them so hard, they knew that, Abdul understood that." Trump said that he would have removed the equipment and taken out the people, then bombed all bases except Bagram.

Starnes can be seen trying to get a word in during the exchange. Trump continues talking about the media.

"The media, which are fake, crooked, and corrupt, they’re the worst people, and they’re also the most corrupt people. It's the only thing that I don’t get is why. They have to hate our country. They are the enemy of the people. Trump stated that the corrupt media is the hurricane night after night."

Trump has spoken out several times about the US withdrawal in Afghanistan over the past two weeks.

Referring to the deal that Trump's administration made with the Taliban, which stated that the US would withdraw its military presence in 14 months, President Joe Biden declared on August 14 that his predecessor had left the Taliban in the "strongest position militarily" since 2001.

Biden was criticized by Trump the next day for not following the plan (delivered by Trump's Administration). Trump issued six statements on August 16 criticizing Biden's handling of the Afghanistan crisis. He said that the outcome would have been "totally different" if Trump was in charge.

Trump later praised the Taliban in a Fox interview on August 17th, calling them "smart", and "good fighters".
