Ainsley Maitland -Niles is an Arsenal midfielder and Everton target. He says he wants "to go where I'm needed and where I want to play".

Arsenal is refusing to let him leave Arsenal, although the Toffees tried to make a deal with the England international.

He was on loan from West Brom for the second half last season.

He made his Premier League debut in Saturday's 5-0 defeat to Manchester City as a substitute.

He was also on the bench during Wednesday's 6-0 Carabao Cup victory against West Brom.

On Monday, he posted to Instagram: "All that I want to do is go wherever I'm desired and where I am gonna play."

He almost joined Wolves last summer, but Arsenal boss MikelArteta decided to keep him. Instead, he was loaned to West Brom in Jan.

Everton and Porto are still in negotiations to sign forward Luis Diaz. They also want to include James Rodriguez as part of a package that is worth more than 20m to his Colombia team-mate.

Porto will not sell Diaz because they consider the 24-year-old a key component in their Champions League campaign in which they face Liverpool. Everton, however, are keen to get rid of James and his high salary after Benitez stated that he doesn't want him in his plans.

Although time is short for the switch, Everton continues to discuss it as they weigh several options.

Italy striker Moise Kaan will be undergoing a medical in Turin before returning to Juventus to complete a loan move. The Italian giants are required to sign the 21 year-old permanently next summer.

Keane failed to make a name for himself after joining Everton in August 2019 at 27m, despite a successful loan spell at Paris St-Germain.

Everton also rejected a second offer from Rangers for Nathan Patterson, a Rangers right-back aged 19, which was valued at around 8m.
