Sunday's announcement by the team revealed that Harrison Smith, All-Pro safety for the Minnesota Vikings, has agreed to extend his contract.
According to ESPN's Mike Golic Jr., the deal is for four years at $64 million. Smith will be the second-highest-paid safety in league, after Jamal Adams of Seattle. The source also confirmed that Smith's extension includes $26.38million guaranteed.
Smith's play was exceptional, even though the Vikings defense failed to deliver last season. Smith, 32, led Minnesota in interceptions (5), and pass deflections (10). He also had 89 total tackles.
Smith was drafted 29th overall in 2012's draft. He is a five time Pro Bowler and was first-team All Pro in 2017.
