With four minutes left, Patrick Bamford scored the Leeds equalizer
Patrick Bamford ended a fantastic week by scoring a late equaliser for Leeds, extending Burnley's unbeaten home run to 12 games. He also scored a point in a fierce Premier League match at Turf Moor.
Chris Wood looked poised to win Burnley all three points by a predatory end against his old club. He turned Matthew Lowton's shot close to home.
Bamford was able to earn his first England call-up just days after signing a long-term contract.
Burnley, who haven't won at home since January victory over Aston Villa, were left holding on to a draw under late Leeds pressure.
Wood, a New Zealand striker who was signed for 15 million by Leeds in 2017, seemed to have broken that run after James Tarkowski's header was kicked on to the Leeds bar by Illan Meslier. The Clarets kept possession of the ball, and Wood was able to redirect it to the net with the smallest touches of Lowton's shot.
With four minutes left, however, Bamford, who nearly scored an own goal in half one when he glanced at a Burnley corner onto the near post, saved a point.
Both sides are still looking for their first league win of this season. The Clarets collected their first point while Leeds was one point ahead after drawing with Everton.
