Miami-Dade Police stated that the man was a veteran in a crisis.
He was taken to the local hospital for evaluation.

According to the Miami-Dade Police Department, a man was detained after an attack on Miami International Airport staff.
On Friday night, a video of a man violently screaming at staff, knocking down barriers and engaging in physical altercations at a gate was shared to social media.
WPLG reported that the incident occurred at American Airlines' Terminal D gate. Witnesses said they believed the man was drunk.
American Airlines declined to comment on Insider's request for comment, but did tell WPLG that they expect customers to adhere to their policies when traveling with them. They also stated that it would not tolerate any violence towards our team members. We are grateful to the MIA team for their professionalism and quick actions in ensuring safety for our customers and our fellow team members.
According to Miami International Airport, police responded and arrested the man in the videos. Later, MDPD stated that the man was a "military veteran of crisis" and was taken by police to a local hospital.
So far, the Federal Aviation Administration has received 3,988 reports from passengers reporting unruly behavior.
