The US Embassy in Kabul advised citizens to evacuate the airport because of a "specific, credible danger" on Saturday.
The alert stated that US citizens should not travel to the airport at all and avoid all airport gates.
On Saturday, President Joe Biden stated that another attack on Kabul's airport was "highly probable" within the next 24-36 hour.
After an explosion by ISIS-K, around 170 Afghans were killed and 13 US service personnel were injured in the blast that occurred near the airport on Thursday.
Biden promised to pursue those responsible and the administration conducted a drone strike on Friday against ISIS-K.

The Pentagon announced Saturday that two ISIS-K leaders, who were well-known and prominent, were killed in the strikes. A third was also wounded.
The US has until August 31st to evacuate its allies and Americans. The Department of Defense stated on Saturday that more than 117,000 Afghans have been evacuated from Afghanistan so far. This includes 5,400 Americans. According to the Department of State, 350 Americans are still in Afghanistan and they want to return.
