Apple Will Fix iPhone 12 Models With Receiver Issues for Free

Some of us have given up on text messages and phone calls, but others still need to make and take calls. It's not easy to do this with the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro models, as they emit no sound when people receive or make calls. The good news is that Apple will repair these phones free of charge.

Apple announced on Friday a worldwide service program to support iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro models, including the iPhone 12 Mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max. There were no sound problems. Apple explained that only a small number of devices might experience sound problems due to a defective component in the receiver module or earpiece. Apple stated that phones affected by this problem were manufactured between October 2020, and April 2021.

According to Apple's website, this is the first service program available for the iPhone 12.

Apple or an authorized Apple service provider will examine your phone to determine if it is eligible for a repair. Apple also offers a mail-in option where you can send your phone to be repaired.

For two years, the service program will be available for iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro. If your receivers are damaged, I can imagine that you want to have it repaired as soon as possible. Please note that your standard 1-year Apple warranty does not cover the cost of fixing your receiver.

Apple reminds you that your phone must be repaired if it has damage that prevents it from being repaired, such as cracked screens. You may have to pay an additional fee in some cases.

Even if you don't make many phone calls like me, it is important to not ignore a phone with an issue. It could be the delivery man trying to find me to deliver my dinner. No dinner, no fun.
