Back to the Future II Was a Surreal Experience for Elijah Wood

Elijah Wood's career has been long. Peter Jacksons The Lord of the Rings, The Faculty, Sin City and The Faculty are just a few. But there is one entry that you should never forget.

In a classic scene, Wood played Video Game Boy (Back to the Future II). Marty McFly, Michael J. Foxs, notices two young men playing Wild Gunman at Cafe 80s in 2015. He gives them a demonstration and explains how to play it. Does that mean you need to use your hands? Wood replied off-camera before John Thornton (the other boy) responded with, Thats like an infants toy. Marty is left deeply confused.

Wood was asked by Deadlines' The Film That Lit My Fuse what films inspired him to take up acting. The actor grew up in Iowa and told them that there was nothing specific about it. My mom was five years old when she saw a commercial. My mom thought I was a very energetic person and that this would be a good outlet. However, he does recall a few films that he saw in his youth that he still vividly remembers. When I was young, I saw Gremlins. Back to the Future, the original Back to the Future, was also something I saw. I also loved The Goonies. I didn't watch those films thinking I would ever be able to do anything with them.

Although he started his career in commercials, his first role in film was Back to the Future II. It was an amazing film because it brought to life what I knew about cinema. He explained that this may have been the first time I could refer to that from what I had seen and what I was actually doing. This is not to say that I didn't understand the commercials I had seen before. It was an acting role that people would recognize. It was mind-blowing to see it refer to a movie I grew up with. This may have been the first time I realized what it was, and that it could be a way to live my life.

It was indeed a life. Are you able to recall the moment you realized Wood was in that small role, after he had become more famous?
