House Capitol riot committee wants to see Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton's communications with the Trump administration

The House Committee investigating the January 6th insurrection at US Capitol is looking for more electronic communications.
The communications between the Trump administration and Ken Paxton, Texas Attorney General, are currently under review.

A House select committee also asked seven agencies to release electronic records "relating the counting of electoral college votes on January 6, 2021".

A House committee investigating the January 6th storming of the US Capitol in support of Donald Trump's former president wants to see communications between Texas attorney general and the administration.

Paxton was present at Trump's rally in Washington, which preceded the violence at the Capitol. False claims of election fraud were made to get the attention of the attendees.

"We will not stop fighting. According to the Texas Tribune, Paxton stated that Texans and Americans are the same, and that the fight will continue.

Paxton was among eight officials from state governments named in a letter. Their communications with Trump are being investigated in connection to the Capitol siege.

The document also names other high-ranking officials from state governments, including the Arizona Governor. Doug Ducey, Georgia Governor Brian Kemp and Brad Raffensperger, Georgia Secretary of State.

The Democratic Rep. Bennie Thompson chairs the committee and has made extensive public records requests to seven executive branches agencies. These include the National Archives, the Department of Defense. Justice. Homeland Security. The Department of the Interior. FBI. National Counterterrorism Center. Office of the Director fo the National Intelligence.

The committee requested that the agencies release electronic records "relating the counting of electoral college votes on January 6, 2021 and the potential for demonstrations or violence in the National Capital Region on or about January 6, 2021 as well as the events or aftermath of January 6 2021."

The majority of the people named in the records request were members of Trump's inner circle. These included his children, staff and several conservative pundits.
