Jon Robinson, Titans general manager, says that the team is approximately 97-98% vaccinated. He also shares his personal experiences with COVID in recent days. (1:02).
NASHVILLE (Tenn.) -- Mike Vrabel, the Tennessee Titans' coach, will not be there for the preseason finale. He was positive for COVID-19 a week ago. Two coaches and another player joined the protocols to help the team as their outbreak continues.
On Saturday, the Titans announced that Craig Aukerman, special teams coach, was returning to Saturday's game against Chicago. Aukerman had missed two practices due to NFL's COVID-19 protocols. Because of virus protocols, Rob Moore, wide receivers coach, and Jason Houghtaling offensive line assistant will be absent from the game.
Racey McMath, a rookie wide receiver, was also placed on Saturday's reserve/COVID-19 roster. He is now the seventh player on the list, and the 12th coach or player to be either on the reserve or following COVID-19 protocols. Vrabel announced last week that McMath had tested positive.
Anthony Rush, a defensive lineman, was activated from Friday's reserve list. This is for players who have tested positive for COVID-19 and are quarantined for close contact with infected persons.
Aukerman will be handling team communication with the Titans, according to the Titans. John Streicher will be the coordinator for football development and handle game decisions, playing time management, and communication with coaches.
