CHICAGO -- Yasmani Grandal still has a lot of work ahead of him when it comes to regaining energy to catch after sustaining a knee injury.

Grandal scored twice and drove in eight runs on his return from the injury list. The Chicago White Sox defeated the lazy Chicago Cubs by 17-13 Friday night.
Grandal's eight RBIs matched his franchise record and career high. He also doubled, and singled.
According to ESPN Stats & Information research, Grandal is the first catcher with multiple eight-RBI games. Along with Nelson Cruz, Jimmie Foxx, and Mookie Betts, he is also the fourth player to have two eight-RBI, four-hit career games.
He said that he felt tired halfway through the game from running around and blocking the plate. But, it was just part of the job. "Thank God I'm back, and I have a month to build my stamina and feel good when the playoffs arrive.
The AL Central leaders are also happy that he is back.
Tony La Russa, Tony's manager, stated that it was evident that he had been working hard because his swing was punctual. It was a huge, massive production.
Jose Abreu had three hits and two RBIs, bringing the White Sox to an AL-best record of 43-23 at-home. Luis Robert had three hits, scored three times and Yoan Moncada extended the length of his hitting streak to 13.
The White Sox are now 4-0 against crosstown Cubs and have won the series for the first-time since 2014.
Grandal, 32, made an immediate impact on his first game with White Sox after tearing a tendon in the left knee at Minnesota.
He scored his 15th homer in third. He tied it at 6 with a three-run drive to the right against Keegan Thomson in the rookie right-hander’s third big league appearance.
Grandal scored a double in the fifth and a single in seventh. He also added another three-run run in the eighth. Frank Schwindel, who attempted to steal second in the second, was also thrown out by Grandal.
