Google shared today a new Pixel 5a advertisement that mocks some of the intro videos Jony Ive, former Apple design chief, used to show new iPhone features.

Calling this perfectly-symmetrical, technological marvel, a "headphone jack" may feel like an understatement...but technically, that's what it's called, so... fair enough. Take a look! The Headphone Jack on the Google Pixel 5a, 5G.

Google spends two minutes explaining the design of Pixel 5a's Headphone Jack in exaggerated language. CNET also noted that there are two instances where Google uses Ive's British pronunciation for aluminum. The video description is:

It's unclear why Google made a video mimicking Jony Ive two years after his departure from Apple. It is also unusual to promote the headphone Jack, as the fervor for the component has slowed down with many high-end smartphones including Google's flagship Pixel models.

Today, the $449 Pixel 5a is on sale. It includes a headphone port, a 6.3-inch screen with hole punch camera cutout, IP67 resistance, 5G connectivity, and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor.

Google's Pixel 5a is competing with the iPhone 12 mini for $699 and the iPhone SE SE for $399 at the moment. However, Apple plans to release an upgrade 5G version of its iPhone SE in 2022.
